Today in the shop I met Richard Farries, who is eleven years old. He explained to me that a friend in his neighborhood at Alameda Point Collaborative (APC) told him about Cycles of Change.

He started volunteering at the shop because he’s very interested in fixing bikes; it keeps him out of trouble. He likes to stay busy during the day, instead of just sitting around, eating and playing video games. Richard says it’s a good organization, and it helps you to learn how to fix your own bike.

He has a BMX mountain bike that he loves. He believes the service that Cycles APC has provided him with the education to fix bikes, and use the tools he needs to do it.
